1. CAN I INSTALL MY OWN WATER SOFTENER?

Yes you can. The majority of our customers install them by themselves. If you don't feel comfortable doing so you can hire a local plumber or handyman to install it. Our systems come with full installation guides and we also offer easy installation quick connection hoses on our website to make installation easier for you.

After your water softener is installed and programmed properly, your only real ongoing maintenance is to make sure that there is always salt in the brine tank. If the salt runs out, the brine solution cannot regenerate the resin beads and you will not have soft water.

All of our water softeners come with a full warranty. SoftPro Water Softener and filters resin and salt tanks carry a Lifetime warranty, SoftPro Elite water softener and filters valves carry a 10 year warranty.

Our Softpro Premiere Pura water softeners carries a lifetime warranty on tanks and 7 years on the valve.

Fleck water softeners and filters have a Ten year warranty on resin and brine tanks and a 5 year warranty on the fleck valve.

If anything should happen to your water softener or filter system prior to arriving we will be more than happy to help and replace anything determined to be damaged or not operating properly. As soon as you find that there might be a problem with your water softener, contact us immediately. We will help you and get the issue resolved at no cost to you. 

The Fleck down flow water softeners is older technology that still works today. Basically the water softener regenerates and flows downward, when it regenerates it uses the full amount salt needed to recharge the whole resin bed even if not needed which waste salt and water. Fleck water softeners only carry a 5 year warranty on the valve and 10 years on the tanks.

A SoftPro up flow on demand water softener is newer technology that actually counts every gallon of water used so that the system can regenerate only when needed. If you use twice as much water or half as much water as usual the system will know it and only recharges the resin bed that needs to be charged saving you a average of $3,297.00 over the lifetime of the water softener system. 5 people x 75 gallons per day of water per person = 375 gallons of water used per day x hardness of 25 grains per gallon - 9,375 grains of hardness being removed per day. Using a 48,000 grain water softeners we divide the 9357 grains of hardness by the capacity of the softener. 48,000 divided by 9375 grains = 5.12 days

A fleck water softener you have to back off one full day for reserves so you don't run out of soft water in the middle of the day or evening. 

Fleck will regenerate every 4 days or every 1500 gallons of water used.

Fleck 48,000 grain water softener uses 22.5 pounds of salt per regeneration. 

Takes 365 days per year and divide by the days of regeneration. 365 divided by 4 = 91 regeneration per year x the amount of salt per regeneration. 91 x 22.5 = 2047 pounds of salt per year.  Salt pellets are generally sold in 40 pound bags at a average cost of $6.28 after tax per bag.

2047 pounds divided by 40 pound bags = 51 bags of salt per year is what a fleck water softener will us based on averages. this is a operating cost of $320.28 per year (26.69 per month )

SoftPro average operating cost:
